About

I’m Kammy – Mom to Elliott (15), Henry (13) and Ada (9).  Both Elliott & Ada are on the autism spectrum.  I enjoy strong coffee, pretending to run, and writing about our daily triumphs, struggles and light-hearted moments.

  1. Jason Colvin, of Friendship Ventures Team Quest program and Camp Adventure fame, suggested I read your blog–especially about the red couch. I think every family needs a “red couch”–the place where all important discussions/concerns/questions can be addressed in a safe, loving, non-judgmental environment. Thank you.

  2. I love the red couch! not only do we have one in our house, but I may just make it our place where all big things go down! Are you in MN? We are in Maple Grove. Would love to chat if you are ever interested about resources in the area. We are fairly new (moved here August 2010). My son is 7 years old with Aspergers.

  3. Hello Kammy,

I am a teacher at Valley View Middle School. Our school does a lot of work with Friendship Ventures and while talking with some of the folks there your name came up in the conversation regarding autism. I was wondering if we could talk about a proposition that I have for you. If you have time, could you please email me so we could discuss?

    Thank you,
    Trista Virtue

  4. Hi Kammy,

My name is Karen and I have enjoyed your blog for awhile now. So much so that I listed your blog as one of my favorites in the reference section of a book that I’ve just published. The book is entitled Life Amplified – Our Family Touched by Autism. It’s my story of my 15-year-old son Titus who happens to have autism. I hope you will check out my website http://www.ourlifeamplified as well as my facebook page @ http://www.facebook.com/ourlifeamplified. I would love to send you a free copy of the book if you’d be willing to help me get the word out about my book. It’s also available in an E-book form on Amazon… but officially not until April 3rd.
Let me know what you think,

    Karen
